"”This is a beautifully told story. It is a kind of modern fairy tale. It was a top vote-getter in a story challenge, so it is not really obscure. But even if you've read it before, it is worth another look.

The story is about Rukhana Malik, who has recently received her B.A. with honors at Cambridge. The story begins when her father informs her that he has chosen a husband for her. The obvious conflict is here, between Rukhana's desire to live her own life, and her duty of obedience to her family.

There is another element: Rukhana's secret desires of punishment and submission, which are unfulfilled. The ending (which is more like a new beginning) is a happy one. There's also a beautifully described switching."

Synopsis
When Rukhana Malik's father announces he's found a husband for her, she's horrified and protests. A secret submissive, she ventures out in the night to whip herself, and is startled by a quiet stranger who wields the switch for her. When the arranged husband arrives with his uncle the next day to begin negotiations, Ruki has a change of heart.

" ”It was a perfect June afternoon in Oxford,” is the start of PhilK’s Academic Discipline story. The author creates a lovely atmosphere in this story about student Louise and her tutor, Abelard. Louise used to be doing well in her studies, but her effort has declined. Student and tutor have a fine dialogue interspersed with a sense of humour, enabling the reader to see the close relationship between these two main characters. And of course Louise gets the kind of help she needs, the sort we spankos enjoy! The ending adds further to our amusement

I like the way PhilK often includes real places in his stories. In this the main character, Abel, walks home to his house in Banbury Road along the river Cherwell. This makes the story very much alive for me and I can identify with the male character."

"This story is set in a world where magic is accepted and there are bureaucrats whose job is to check up and reverse the magic!

The theme is that an old man is knocked by a Kid on a skate board. The Old man is a magician and decides it’s time for a change in the balance between young and old. More discipline, respect for social mores and courtesy towards each other is needed. So the old magician casts the pebble on the waters which creates the ‘seed change’, a ripple effect. It's his last spell. We read about the beginnings of the change.

John Benson's society is suffering from the same ailments we are seeing on a day to day basis in our own culture. Standards of education, self respect and acceptance of responsibility for ones actions are at an all time low."

"Alex wrote ’Singapore Sting’ from a woman’s perspective, something he did many times and was very good at. The narrator is a forty two year old woman working in Singapore who has a sexual dud for a husband and an unrealized desire to have her bottom smacked...until she falls afoul of her employer and is given the choice of a caning or dismissal. So she quits. This is a very short story indeed. Just kidding, folks.

After a cup of tea to think about the matter she reluctantly agrees to take the caning. Once she is bent across her employer’s desk with her bottom bare, and the punishment begins, she soon discovers that the caning arouses emotions she did not expect.

"This is one of my top stories of all time. I read this story for the first time about 10 years ago, and have reread it a number of times. I even translated it and with Rue’s permission posted the translation on a Danish Spanking Board.

The humour in this story is great right from the start. I found myself laughing aloud while reading. The female narrating the story has a long dialogue with her husband using intelligence, funny remarks and crazy arguing to try to talk herself out of the spanking we know she is going to get. The variation in the dialogue is splendid, ranging from an answer of two to three words to a long explanation.

Th spanking in this story is well described, and the conclusion is great."

"Birthday Girl is a very sweet and sensual story. The description of Ginny and her pretty bottom is excellent and appealing not to mention the way her clothes emphasize her curves: “The silken material of the dress clung close around her shapely rear contours, hugging every curve and dimple and revealing that under it she wore only the briefest of knickers.”

After meetings at a café and an Italian restaurant in London, Ginny she visits the male character and is easily persuaded into experiencing a nice birthday spanking. She turns out to be an enthusiastic spankee: “Could I just try a couple of hard ones, just to see what they're like?”

And what a name she has: "Genevieve – although called Ginny by everyone." A very enjoyable story."

In short order the author runs us through the regular set up for a school caning story, then adds the hint of sexual submissiveness, layers on betrayal and tops it off with a wonderful twist this reviewer hadn't seen coming.

All this done with John Benson's customary skill and brevity. That we don't even see sight nor sound of a cane is testimony to its quality, and there's no trace of magic either."

"Teacher's Punishment is Tom's only submission to the Spanking Library, and that is a bit of a shame, really. it is an economically and clearly written tale that I am sure every spanked schoolgirl (or schoolboy for that matter!) has fantasized about - their parent or guardian spanking their teacher after an unjust spanking.

The writing does tend to be formulaic. There is little if any character development and little change except for Emily the unfortunate teacher. The daughter character is particularly wooden. Still if you like School CP stories you will be hard pressed to find a better one here."

Kate's step-father is not pleased to be summoned to the school where he finds Kate in distress after a punishment which was neither deserved nor authorised. "The title, (incidentally the only use of the word 'succubus' in the titles on these shelves) the set up and the first half of the story gear us up to expect a tale of magic, fear and submission to a female demon of the night - Yum.

This, however, being written by Flopsybunny, we are denied, and the tale takes a completely different turn, still resulting in a soundly spanked bottom though.

There is much to enjoy here, the descriptions of the succubus and the spanking, the anger of the protagonist and his confusion when things turn out differently to how the script was supposed – in his mind - to go, and also the final delicate completion of the circle which I won't mention for fear of spoiling it.

A good story can be made better with a twist, and this has two of them, or is that three?."

"This is a story not for a casual read. Whilst there are sections designed to arouse the reader, this isn't the main attraction. The author probes the ambivalence and guilt which lies at the heart of our kink by telling the tale of two youngsters trying to engineer an outcome for themselves, and yet, by an unexpected intervention getting more than they bargained for and less than they deserved.

Possibly they'll get also a greater prize cunningly bestowed under the noses of the authorities by the character called The Adept who surmises "What benefits society doesn't always benefit those in power"

The protagonists stories are crosswired, but so are the machinations of those in control.

It's a tale well worth reading, but be prepared to give it a little time."

Caitlin and Tom find themselves part of each others 'virtual punishment'. After it is over they are offered the chance to remain together, which they take. The 'Adept' knows that together they will both become good for society, as they can give each other what they need.

"This is a quite delightful story – From reading the title one knows approximately what will transpire, and it doesn't disappoint. The two main characters are so well drawn that male readers of the right persuasion will be deeply jealous of young Mr Rosen the journalist, urging him in their minds to submit to his - and their fantasies.

The effect of the interview is like watching that between a cat and a mouse. The Headmistress predicting the storyline with amused detachment, the journalist seeing it but not knowing if he has the guts to allow it to happen.

There are in addition a number of lovely touches – the difference between thwack and thwock for example, the “exchange of prisoners”, for make no mistake, there is a prisoner here, and he's not attending the school.

All in all a not-unusual scenario for a spanking story but executed with great skill."

Mr Rosen is tasked with interviewing the Headmistress of the local prep school, for the paper he is working for. He can't resist asking her about punishments at the school and soon gets to listen as a boy is caned. Story Of The Day - Outside Mr Billingham's study

Our next 'Story of the Day' is Outside Mr Billingham's study by Arthur James Blimp which has been recommended by LSF member, Opb

"This is a very short school caning story, well deserving of the term vignette which has been applied to it by some commenters.

Do not, however mistake brevity with lightness; the sense of place is nicely described, the asides about baldness and the foolishness of getting involved in the schemes of the notorious Edwards create a stream-of-consciousness feel that must make those of us who have stood outside the Head's study recall the feelings exactly.

Just when the reader thinks that this is just going to be a ramble inside the boy's head we are treated to a twist – the teacher's attractive older daughter appears, doubtless the target of much unfulfilled sighing by the boys, and for a moment the narrator reaches for a little fellow feeling with her – seeking brownie points or perhaps a distraction from the ordeal to come.

Needless to say the edifice of this delusion comes crashing down. This is a good read, a delicate piece given the subject matter. "

"Unlike most of John Benson's stories, Teak and Polished Brass contains no fantasy, science fiction or magic. On re-reading it I realized that the situation was in many ways similar to 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' with an older authoritative man and a younger women who had unexplored desires. What makes it different from 'Fifty Shades of Grey' in my opinion, is that it is well written.

Benson is very good at getting into the psyche of his characters. This story is a fairly short and enjoyable read. It is too bad that Benson didn't write Fifty Shades of Grey. If he had it would have been a much better novel. "

"Initially this looks like a routine infraction – unexpected spanking story, and right up until the last line that's what we're led to believe. It might even be that that was the author's original intent until the story was transformed into a series of linked tales where the eponymous hairbrush makes an appearance to attempt to modify the behaviour (or cooking in the final 'multi-disciplinary' episode) of a variety of characters.

Initially it appears that the brush is imbued by some sort of magic, coming to the aid of an exasperated person in his or her hour of need, but towards the end of the series other more utilitarian mechanisms are used to aid the hairbrush's travel. The stories are short, and the total number – seven – seems about right.

No great philosophical themes here, just a Flopsyesque giggle at deserving bottoms well spanked."

"This is, at the time of reviewing, the only one of over 20,000 items in the LSF to have the word 'chivalrous' in the title. This is peculiar as this virtue should not be far from the hearts of spankos as a rule. Blimp takes a fairly standard school infraction-punishment story and not only treats it with some beautifully toned detail, but improves on it dramatically with the super-plot of the chivalrous lie which forms a love triangle birthed in the pain of a caning.

The characters are familiar but well drawn – The stern and implacable schoolmistress, the insouciant regular offender, the innocent caught up in matters outside his experience, and the sweet girl surprisingly able to take her punishment as well as the famed Kennedy, whose mention is suitably passing. The details are superb: the smells and silences draw you into the House mistress' study - the ticking of the clock of Damocles, the dampness of the boy's head as it touches the leather chair and the shocking sight of the girl's already caned behind.

That the point of view changes between the characters doesn't matter, as they all have a unique perspective on the events they are caught up in. My own perspective is that it's an excellent example of the school discipline story improved upon by a good writer."

Being the 'new kid' in a new school is never easy. Scott finds himself in quite a moral dilemma when he tells a lie to keep a pretty girl from getting additional swats with a cane. But coming to a damsel's aid has its benefits!

There's more than a whiff of Jeeves and Wooster here, except that the Prince is not so helpless as Wodehouse's hero. We can predict the way the conversation between Prince and valet is going to go; this is a spanking story after all, but the flagging of the laughs only serves to enhance their effect."

Synopsis
A variant on the well loved fairy tale. The prince landed a smack on Cinderella as she left the ball and a year on wants to repeat the experience. Dandini has a cunning plan to achieve this.
